Another easy DIY
Springtime means changes for me, especially where my home is concerned lol Besides my usual spring cleaning I have decided to re decorate my upstairs living room too....which involved a lot of DIY projects that came in under budget. This one was fairly simple, I used my own coffee table and turned it into an ottoman, and yes, once again, I was "Pinterest Inspired" hehe
After painting and distressing the legs, the rest came together easy enough, once I found the right foam which was a challenge unto itself! Who knew foam was SO expensive?! But I did manage to find some cost friendly foam to use at Walmart, it came in squares so I had to cut it to shape my round table, but if yours is square or rectangular then you probably wouldn't have to do any trimming.
Anyways, here's a list of supplies to transform your table ~~
Fabric of your choice ( I hit up the 50% off aisle of our local Fabricland )
Square foam pieces ( $6.47/square at WalMart )
Elmer's spray glue ( $6.99 at WalMart )
A staple gun and staples
First off, make sure your surface area on the top of your table is clean and dry.
Spray the area with the glue you are placing a square foam and quickly apply your foam. The glue dries fairly fast FYI lol continue until your surface is adequately covered.
Measure and cut your material leaving an extra 2 inches of over hang you can always trim later.
Now turn your table over and start stapling your fabric tightly to the underside. I had to pleat mine because of the shape, but a square shouldn't need that to be done.
After you have secured your fabric with a gazillion staples lol trim the excess, then turn that baby back over! Your done!
If your ottoman feels like it needs a little extra " detail" you can always purchase brass nail heads and add them around the sides or even do puckered buttons ontop if you really want to go all out :)
Be inspired! Making or up cycling your own furniture is such a unique and Eco friendly way of making changes in your home, and can be a lot of fun as well!

A Pinterest Sucess!
WHAT YOU NEED
~fabric of your choice! you can be really creative here! Use napkins, old sheets, anything with a pattern you like
~three cheap Walmart frames (whatever color you want )
~a glue gun and glue sticks
~scissors
All I did was take the cardboard that comes with the picture frame and lay it out on my first fabric, then cut around it leaving an inch or so to fold over.
After checking the pattern was straight I began to fold the fabric over the cardboard and hot glue the edges down. Corners were a little tricky so I just folded them in, kind of like you'd wrap a present ;)
After letting it set a minute I just put the picture frame back together and Voila! Instant, unique and very cheap art for my walls!
