A Saturday afternoon

So the other night I managed to score 7 old windows for a mere $20, these windows are OLD, according to the older gentleman I purchased them from, around 80 years old. I've been dying to try some new projects using old windows, thanks to Pinterst haha So today, the sun was shining, and I figured, what better way to spend some " Me " time than tackle a project lol

This was so easy, so simple, and wow did it turn out AMAZING!

These are the windows before and after :)

First I used a compressor to blow away as much dirt, grime, and old flaked paint as possible from the window, then gave it a good wash down.  After taping everything off really well I used a chalk board spray paint that can be purchased at any home improvement store ( cost was $6 )
It took a few coats, and I had to keep holding it up to the light to make sure it was thoroughly covered, but I eventually got it just right :)
After everything dried I pulled off the painters tape and using a white acrylic, to match the window, I touched up any areas that needed it.... Wasn't much to touch up, I was going for the really rustic, shabby/chic look so I wanted to keep it as natural looking as possible :)

I'm actually quite impressed at how it turned out, haha, and it really goes to show that anyone is capable of pulling off projects, and doing them on a budget :)
Now to get the hubby to actually hang it for me.......lol

Find your Happy

Ok wow! It's been a long time since I've posted, and today feels like the perfect day to blog :) Summer went by so fast and was so busy, now that the kids are back in school I feel like I can breathe again lol Don't get me wrong, summer is always full of fun, family time, and I love having the time with my munchkins. But there's just something to be said about having time to read, catch up, keep up on my house easier and just getting a much needed " Mommy break " :)
Today, the day before my last baby starts pre-school, I decided we would just enjoy the day, relax, be lazy, do whatever we felt like. This morning started with Myah once again helping herself to a bath in the kitchen sink with her baby...and before getting upset at the huge mess of water covering my counters and floors I checked myself - today was about doing what made us happy, this made her happy...lol I also had the enjoyment of catching up with a dear friend of mine via text, for three hours lol Now of course I couldn't just sit and text, I have a busy toddler who requires my constant attention, so between having a dance party, colouring, snacks and a real bath in the bathtub I managed to have one of the best conversations I've had in a long time :) Mommy multi-tasking at it's finest! Haha!
This afternoon I decided to actually put a couple loads of laundry in because the guilt of having a lazy day was getting to me ( sad, I know ) BUT I also watched a movie between loads and I just have to share this movie with all my fellow Mama's, yes it was THAT good! The title is Mommy's night out. Yes, cliche' I know, but such a feel good, relatable, funny and wonderful movie :) I'm pretty sure every stay at home Mom or any Mom for that matter could relate to this movie on every level.
Let's be real for a minute...
As wonderful as our lives can be, or as perfect, or as much as they are everything you dreamed or hoped they would be, there are times, or seasons if you will, where we have everything, yet are still unhappy. Between the chaos, the routine, of everyday life, the stress can really get to us right?
I can't even count the times I've felt unhappy, and struggled to pull myself out of my funk.
But you know what? When I feel like this, all it takes is to watch my kids smiling, happy, or having them tell me how much they love me and it's amazing how fast that in itself can pull me out of my slump, and help me find my happy again. I truly believe my kids are my happy.
So as we head into Fall, the craziness of life, I challenge you all to find your happy :) Even on the worst days :) And take days to do what you want, forget the dishes, the laundry, the toys scattered across the floor, and just breathe. And if all else fails, watch this movie, I promise it will, if anything help you feel not so alone <3

Polysporin Eczema Cream Review

For those of you with eczema or children battling this skin disease I just have to share this product with you! After years of battling eczema and on very strong steroid creams which never really seemed to take it away, I discovered Polysporin for Eczema, for my husband....and WOW! This stuff is absolutely amazing!!!! After only three days of using this once a day, he is no longer itchy, and most of the patches are now gone! He loves it and thinks this is finally the key to living more comfortably :) Great for your little ones as well because it is steroid free :) The best part? It's only $16.99 for a large bottle!
I highly recommend this product!

Easter Fun!

Yes it's been awhile! I have been so busy I have finally had the time to write a new blog lol
Now I know this is from awhile ago but this was such an amazing, fun thing to do with my kids this past Easter I just had to share it with you all!
First we planted three chocolate Easter eggs ( the kinds you buy in bags to hide ) and I had each of my kids make a wish it would grow overnight, they were really excited although my oldest daughter was skeptical lol After the kids were asleep I grabbed a flashlight and dug up the eggs in the dark....in hind site I will try and do this while it's still light out haha I did consider not digging them up, thinking the kids wouldn't actually try to the next morning, and I'm glad I did dig them up because that was the first thing my oldest did lol
Then I popped three chocolate Easter themed suckers in where the eggs were so it looked like we had, in fact, grown suckers :)
The kids were so excited in the morning to go check and the look on they're faces was priceless!
It was definitely a fun, easy and cheap thing to add to our Easter morning, and I will probably do it again next year, make a tradition of sorts that they might just pass down to they're kids one day :)
